Welcome to the Bloomberg New Energy Finance Solar Value Chain Spot Price Index and Module Spot Price Index. The Bloomberg New Energy Finance Solar Indexes are the leading price benchmarking tools across the solar industry with over 150 participating organisations.

The Solar Value Chain Spot Price Index is surveying spot prices of polysilicon, 5" monocrystalline silicon wafers, 6" monocrystalline silicon wafers, 6" multicrystalline silicon wafers, monocrystalline silicon cells and multicrystalline silicon cells. The Module Spot Price Index is surveying spot prices for the dominant technologies of crystalline silicon, thin film silicon, cadmium telluride and copper indium gallium selenide modules.

Registration and participation in the Bloomberg New Energy Finance Indexes is only available to solar industry participants who actively and frequently procure, manufacture or trade any of the above products. If you are not actively involved in any of these activities, please contact sales.bnef@bloomberg.net to find out how to get access to this data.

As of August 2013, we have decided to add further checks to registrants and participants. This is due to the possible use of the Bloomberg New Energy Finance Price Indexes in the Undertaking between China and the European Commission. We will now require new registrants to show us a photo or scan of a sales contract less than two months old, to be admitted to the sample. We may also request to see a contract or offer (including date and details) from participants at random. This is purely to verify that the participant is actually a buyer, seller or trader of the product, and that the data they are submitting is representative.
